It was only after the physical confrontation with the officer was [b]THE SUSPECT[/b] shot.... I assume that the "confrontation" was the officer trying to take the suspect into custody for the felony on the woman, and the attempted felonious getaway in the vehicle that had a toddler in it.

He probably saved their lives!!!
