An important part of human history is our relationship with animals. Of course there will be dogs as pets in the clan. Everyone joining the clan is encouraged to bring their dog. Although small dogs are not good at hunting and retreiving, they are good at other things, mainly locating close predators, foraging, and and detecting other people and animals. Medium and large dogs will learn to hunt and retrieve. Dogs are important to our survival, they will help us to eat and help us to detect problems a night.
We will also have cats to remove unwanted rodentia. I expect many cattle will be loose and wild. Attempts to wrangle these cattle will be made. After many have been collected, we will raise and breed these cattle. Same for chickens.Wild hogs are rampant, so I don't expect a need to raise pigs, one less thing for the community to worry about.
We will also hunt for meat: Deer, we will fish, hogs, possibly buffalo, and turkey.
For clothing and fur we will hunt deer, fox, racoon, ringtail, and use leather from our cattle.
We will respect animals and nature, we will take only what we need.
