[quote:CharlieMurphy:MV8yMTQ4MjcxXzM2MzE5ODE3XzRGQTFBRDU0] My post on another thread from 2 days ago: [quote:CharlieMurphy:MV8yMTQ3OTU1XzM2Mjg5NDUwXzdEOUFEREMz] Last night I saw the best meteor I have ever seen. It was big, slow, and shone about as bright as the moon. I am in North Chicago suburbs. It traveled from East to West in the southern sky at about 60 degrees above the horizon. It looked incredibly low but I am sure it wasn't.

I just heard it on the radio and decided to look it up. I found this article [
link to www.gazeta.ru
] (in Russian) tells of what could be a meteorite that fell into the sea outside Riga, Latvia. There were many witnesses noticing a bright flash, a loud sound and some sources even say the meteorite / bolide was spotted in Finland.
I am not worried easily, but right now I am starting to get worried concerning waht on Earth is going on with our skies lately. What kind of an object do you think this was? Fell free to discuss.
