Report: Herman Cain organizes meeting with Ben Carson and other black Republicans By Daniel Strauss - 04/15/13 11:21 AM ET Tweet
Former presidential candidate Herman Cain is convening a meeting of black Republicans on Monday to discuss how to attract African Americans to join the party, according to a report.
Dr. Ben Carson, a Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon who is seen as a rising star among conservatives, will be at the meeting, according to CNN. The meeting will be held at the Willard Hotel.
Besides Cain and Carson, the other attendees are former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, anti-abortion activist Alveda King, National Black Chamber of Commerce president Harry Alford, radio commentator Armstrong Williams, Congress of Racial Equality spokesman Niger Innis, Brooklyn Christian Cultural Center founder A.R. Bernard, activist Star Parker and George Mason University professor of economics Walter Williams.
The focus of the meeting will be on "how to collectively expose the damaging effects of the current administration of the black community," a Cain spokesman told CNN.
