Years ago, two women who lived together were spinsters. Now they are paraded around as lesbians. I knew several old lady couples in our small community and they were well liked. NOTHING of their sexuality was ever talked about, as was nothing of any one elses, and we were taught to treat them with respect as we would any elder. Society had a way of dealing with those who wished to live alter to society without excluding them or parading them. (They were always referred to as "sisters" or "cousins")
yea thats how i feel about all those hetero's . ya know parading around holding hands in public! who do they think they are ! they act all loving toward each other .. sick! from now on everyone should just stop with the affection and keep there eyes on the ground , not on each other. as long as i cant see it it doesnt exist and the world is back to my safty zone where it belongs. :lala:
You misunderstand. In my day, people didn't display affection in public. It was considered lude. We had rules that everyone - gay or straight - lived by and everyone benefited. It has always been easier for women to be gay since women showing affection such as holding the other's arm or kissing on the cheek and hugging has always been socially acceptable. I'm not against people loving regardless of their gender, but even my lesbian friends are appalled at having their sexuality paraded around by people with an agenda. It's like my friend Jane says, "99.9 % of people who claim to be gay need mental help, the other .1% of us are busy working, paying taxes and living!"
Our culture has changed dramatically in the last 30-40 years in so many ways, one of which is the growth, approval and super exposure of celebrating the diversity of everything homosexual.
Do we want to encourage more homosexual or less?
Are we better people if we approve and applaud everything gay?
