Original Message GLPers, I'll probably make a lot of enemies from this, but let me throw something your way. What if there were kids and no-kids sections at restaurants. I'm talking like smoking and non-smoking. Not saying you should corral people with kids in a back room in a dungeon or anything, just wondering if maybe the world would be a much less frustrating place if there were a section where people could go on a date to a restaurant and have a peaceful meal rather than spend $200 after sitting next to a family with a bunch of kids carrying on, yelling, and running all over the restaurant. That's why I don't go to Chuck E Cheese for dinner-- because I don't care for that. Now picture this: you've just spent hours looking for a babysitter and dropped some dough for a babysitter and then go decide to take you lady/man, whatever, for a nice night out. You sit at your table, order a nice bottle of wine, order your appetizer and dinner and there comes a family with 3 kids who begin to carry on, yell, and run around all over the place? What do you do? Is that fair? Yes, I know it's up to the parents to keep their kids in line, but most of them don't care. Wouldn't it be better to separate the families with kids from the dates? I'm talking expensive restaurants, not like cracker barrel or anything like that. I just don't think it's fair to drop a bunch of money just to have your meal spoiled by a bunch of screaming animals. Now' again, I'm talking equal service and amenities, so don't think I'm some child hating person who wants to lock them up in a dungeon. I just think that people who go out on a date want some chill atmosphere, not a romper room. Who's with me? ANd I can't believe this hasn't caught on. I'd much rather have some chain smoking person next to my table than some kid yelling his head off when you're trying to have a nice romantic QUIET date.
