Busy as hell in Amsterdam as usual. Dutch is the less heard language over there, lol. I agree with you on the Rijksmuseum. So beautiful. And I too love the old Dutch Masters more than Van Gogh. Even though he was brilliant as well, with a thin line between geniality and schizophrenia, the era of the Masters appeals more to me as well. Of course we tend to romanticize, but to me that time is more alive. I took a picture and edited it a little. Called it the Day Watch at the Night Watch. ;-) :rembrandt: https://imgur.com/gallery/z0V2hGx :hf:
Love the pic! sounds like a great day. Who are all those short people in the pic? They can't be Dutch :)
It was a great day, thank you! And those short people? Well, they are actors from everywhere, performing in an even bigger painting, called the universe. I am convinced we are all actors, playing our part in life. And how colorful that makes being around. Sometimes it doesn't, I know. But we paint the most beautiful scenery together. Okay, getting all philosophical again. Sorry, I just like to think of life that way. :hf:
I accidentally deleted the OP of this thread during some glitch issues on GLP this morning (10/30/17).
I will be posting some useful links in the next post to make it easier for those posting so you don't have to scroll through a massive OP. :)
I had to delete the first two comments on this thread to do so, but wanted to keep them so I've put them below.

I also would like to mention that I know this thread has MANY pages and that it can be somewhat intimidating to join/chime in on a long standing thread as a new member/AC (I've experienced it when I first joined GLP), but we are a VERY welcoming group to those who newly join us. We are a small family of sorts who are all mostly interested in the same earth-related topics (quakes/solar/volcanoes/weather/etc.) and share info on each of those topics as well as 'off-topic' discussions. We genuinely care for one another here and even when we do not agree with each other, we ALWAYS respect each other.
I truly enjoy when new folks join us here. All that I ask is to show respect. :)
