The track has shifted further south, with a forecast landfall on Tuesday night in North Palm Beach County as a Category 4 Hurricane. A landfall here would place most of South Florida in hurricane force winds. What concerns me the most, is that #Dorian will be slowly drifting and crawling towards the coast for hours. That means multiple hours of hurricane force wind, and multiple hours of tropical storm force winds. The slow speed will also lead to massive amounts of rainfall that will cause flooding in low lying areas. The track will continue to be adjusted for minor shifts and wobbles, however unfortunately I do not foresee any major swings away from our area. Please take this storm very seriously. Continue to prepare your home and hurricane supply kit. If you are unsure if you are in safe structure, please make arrangements to ride out the storm in a shelter or safe structure. If you are in an evacuation zone, please keep a close eye on the local news. Timeline: Friday - Prep Saturday - Prep Sunday - Last Min Prep/ Hunkerdown/ TS Winds arrive in the Afternoon Monday - TS Winds to Hurricane Winds Tuesday - Hurricane Winds to TS Winds. Decreasing as Dorian pulls away.

I accidentally deleted the OP of this thread during some glitch issues on GLP this morning (10/30/17).
I will be posting some useful links in the next post to make it easier for those posting so you don't have to scroll through a massive OP. :)
I had to delete the first two comments on this thread to do so, but wanted to keep them so I've put them below.

I also would like to mention that I know this thread has MANY pages and that it can be somewhat intimidating to join/chime in on a long standing thread as a new member/AC (I've experienced it when I first joined GLP), but we are a VERY welcoming group to those who newly join us. We are a small family of sorts who are all mostly interested in the same earth-related topics (quakes/solar/volcanoes/weather/etc.) and share info on each of those topics as well as 'off-topic' discussions. We genuinely care for one another here and even when we do not agree with each other, we ALWAYS respect each other.
I truly enjoy when new folks join us here. All that I ask is to show respect. :)
