US pilot spotted one about 1000km away, yet no confirmation otherwise. Was kinda weird. https://twitter.com/nayibbukele/status/1193966110481244161
How strange! :pipebaby:
Even weirder is this (taken from the thread on this topic): [quote:Lance Roseman From BC:MV80MTgzMzMzXzc2MDY0OTc0XzcyODBFMTdD] Exactly a year ago today https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/2018/11/strange-earthquake-waves-rippled-around-world-earth-geology/
From that article above: On the morning of November 11, just before 9:30 UT, a mysterious rumble rolled around the world. The seismic waves began roughly 15 miles off the shores of Mayotte, a French island sandwiched between Africa and the northern tip of Madagascar. The waves buzzed across Africa, ringing sensors in Zambia, Kenya, and Ethiopia. They traversed vast oceans, humming across Chile, New Zealand, Canada, and even Hawaii nearly 11,000 miles away. What's interesting to add to this is the increase in Hawaii and Mayotte quakes in past weeks. And today we had the 4.9 in Hawaii, so I expect to see Mayotte respond. Not sure what it all means or if it's connected, but interesting nonetheless.
I accidentally deleted the OP of this thread during some glitch issues on GLP this morning (10/30/17).
I will be posting some useful links in the next post to make it easier for those posting so you don't have to scroll through a massive OP. : )
I had to delete the first two comments on this thread to do so, but wanted to keep them so I've put them below.
5* and I'm on board.. Simple.. I'm sorry about CH.. He will be missed greatly..

I also would like to mention that I know this thread has MANY pages and that it can be somewhat intimidating to join/chime in on a long standing thread as a new member/AC (I've experienced it when I first joined GLP), but we are a VERY welcoming group to those who newly join us. We are a small family of sorts who are all mostly interested in the same earth-related topics (quakes/solar/volcanoes/weather/etc.) and share info on each of those topics as well as 'off-topic' discussions. We genuinely care for one another here and even when we do not agree with each other, we ALWAYS respect each other.
I truly enjoy when new folks join us here. All that I ask is to show respect. : )
