They started an hour ago at 5pm. Some businesses closed early at 4pm. Less than 2 miles away. :hiding:
That is a bit close for comfort. Is there a curfew in place there? Our protests here have continued, but they have all been very peaceful the past few days. No problems at all. Quite a turn around. I guess it might be due to the curfew they put in place here earlier in the week? I really didn't expect it to help that much, it wasn't overly effective during Ferguson, but it seems to have helped this time around. Wishing you an uneventful evening with no issues.
The curfew here from the virus just finally ended two days ago. They didn't put a curfew in place for tonight, but a lot of businesses closed early. I hadn't even heard about these protests tonight until a friend texted me earlier this afternoon telling me about it. I've seen a couple of quick live videos on FB and things seem peaceful so far. All is normal and quiet in my immediate area. Glad to hear things are now peaceful in your area. :)
Good grief, I didn't realize you still had virus curfews in place! We have curfews in place due to the protesting. It started on Tuesday and since then, there have still been protests but they have all been really peaceful. And I haven't heard of any shenanigans at night after the curfews start so that's good.
I accidentally deleted the OP of this thread during some glitch issues on GLP this morning (10/30/17).
I will be posting some useful links in the next post to make it easier for those posting so you don't have to scroll through a massive OP. :)
I had to delete the first two comments on this thread to do so, but wanted to keep them so I've put them below.

I also would like to mention that I know this thread has MANY pages and that it can be somewhat intimidating to join/chime in on a long standing thread as a new member/AC (I've experienced it when I first joined GLP), but we are a VERY welcoming group to those who newly join us. We are a small family of sorts who are all mostly interested in the same earth-related topics (quakes/solar/volcanoes/weather/etc.) and share info on each of those topics as well as 'off-topic' discussions. We genuinely care for one another here and even when we do not agree with each other, we ALWAYS respect each other.
I truly enjoy when new folks join us here. All that I ask is to show respect. :)
