The other day we have an electric grid blackout like never it happened: some neighbors share similar descriptions: they believe it was a bomb, because the lights went off with a strong sound. Not a transformer explosion sound, it was a clear night-no storms, not a drop of rain in the air. Everyone in their homes asked: What the fuck was that? It was not a common blackout. It was a kind of scary one. It is known that Puerto Rico have been used to test secret weapons or to spread new diseases against the knowledge of the people. It was an old practice, but who knows. That was definitely weird.
And we just had that major DC power outage here. As well as MANY others lately that weren't weather-related. I shared last night, or the night before, on this topic with my personal GLP-ish perspective on it. Lol, which I don't normally do, but when I feel I should...I do. : ) Stay aware, as you are. Stay safe. And don't forget to give me a heads up, if need be, on the East Coast! :hugs:
You will definitely know the difference, if you know how a typical blackout happened before in your area. The insane part is that "bomb sound" it was like all of the sudden the energy was sucked into the air, I really don't know how to explain it. But if you have the experience you will agree with me it was not a typical blackout
According to Dutchsinse, the East Coast may be hearing those "booms" any time now. I'm VERY curious to see if this happens as he is pretty spot on. May or may not happen. But if I start hearing booms.... Well, you all should know that I will absolutely record the sounds and share them here. Hopefully this won't even happen. But, FINALLY the temps here have crawled out of the freezing range. So my bedroom window is open. You all would be the first to know if I hear anything.
I accidentally deleted the OP of this thread during some glitch issues on GLP this morning (10/30/17).
I will be posting some useful links in the next post to make it easier for those posting so you don't have to scroll through a massive OP. :)
I had to delete the first two comments on this thread to do so, but wanted to keep them so I've put them below.

I also would like to mention that I know this thread has MANY pages and that it can be somewhat intimidating to join/chime in on a long standing thread as a new member/AC (I've experienced it when I first joined GLP), but we are a VERY welcoming group to those who newly join us. We are a small family of sorts who are all mostly interested in the same earth-related topics (quakes/solar/volcanoes/weather/etc.) and share info on each of those topics as well as 'off-topic' discussions. We genuinely care for one another here and even when we do not agree with each other, we ALWAYS respect each other.
I truly enjoy when new folks join us here. All that I ask is to show respect. :)
