Some were up on lawns, in cut fields, two on the road, etc. We are concerned enough that we called the local forest ranger service and they are will be on the look-out throughout the parks to see if this aberration is a one-off. The other bizarre thing about this is the field hawks, crows, and other scavenger birds are not retrieving the bodies. Very disconcerting.
That's very weird. Where is this?
South central Indiana, quite a rural area. We're going out later to talk to some of the farmers. Talked to two local hunters also. One of them noticed the dead squirrels earlier and said he is heading out to a game preserve later on to observe because he has an uneasy feeling about this. The guy has been hunting for almost 30 years.
 :hiding:
I accidentally deleted the OP of this thread during some glitch issues on GLP this morning (10/30/17).
I will be posting some useful links in the next post to make it easier for those posting so you don't have to scroll through a massive OP. :)
I had to delete the first two comments on this thread to do so, but wanted to keep them so I've put them below.

I also would like to mention that I know this thread has MANY pages and that it can be somewhat intimidating to join/chime in on a long standing thread as a new member/AC (I've experienced it when I first joined GLP), but we are a VERY welcoming group to those who newly join us. We are a small family of sorts who are all mostly interested in the same earth-related topics (quakes/solar/volcanoes/weather/etc.) and share info on each of those topics as well as 'off-topic' discussions. We genuinely care for one another here and even when we do not agree with each other, we ALWAYS respect each other.
I truly enjoy when new folks join us here. All that I ask is to show respect. :)
