I can't eat nuts because they're a migraine trigger for me and I LOVE peanut butter. I found this stuff called Wowbutter at the market the other day and it's made from roasted soy. The best part is that it tastes EXACTLY like peanut butter but with just an oh so slightly different texture...a little more grainy. I just don't want to feed a craving but kill my insides at the same time.
I'm all plant-based, so I've definitely looked into this a little bit here and there and have found that the risk with too much soy is with eating processed soy products. If you eat processed soy foods, there may be a more heightened risk for disease. Processed soy products would be soy sausages and things that mimic meat, etc. I've also found that the Amer. Inst. for Cancer Research said that women can eat up to two or three servings of soy foods daily. Any more and you could run a higher risk for breast cancer.
But I've never heard of Wowbutter...definitely going to be on the lookout. Sounds good.
I accidentally deleted the OP of this thread during some glitch issues on GLP this morning (10/30/17).
I will be posting some useful links in the next post to make it easier for those posting so you don't have to scroll through a massive OP. :)
I had to delete the first two comments on this thread to do so, but wanted to keep them so I've put them below.

I also would like to mention that I know this thread has MANY pages and that it can be somewhat intimidating to join/chime in on a long standing thread as a new member/AC (I've experienced it when I first joined GLP), but we are a VERY welcoming group to those who newly join us. We are a small family of sorts who are all mostly interested in the same earth-related topics (quakes/solar/volcanoes/weather/etc.) and share info on each of those topics as well as 'off-topic' discussions. We genuinely care for one another here and even when we do not agree with each other, we ALWAYS respect each other.
I truly enjoy when new folks join us here. All that I ask is to show respect. :)
