But as Monday’s total solar eclipse approaches, the National Park Service says: “August 21 is anticipated to be the busiest day in the history of the park”. http://www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/us-eclipse-gridlock-yellowstone-grand-tetons-national-park-a7902836.html
Local news reference to traffic. They drove from Denver to Ft Collins - about an hour drive typically. Today it took them 1 hour and 45 minutes. They are putting emergency porta-potties up and down I-25, extra at rest stops as well as anywhere there is a turn out - "for those times you just gotta go", his words, not mine, lol The sensors on I-25 at the border between CO and WY, 30,000 vehicles above normal on a holiday weekend, just since 5pm yesterday. LOL
Wow, good update WA! I actually did some searching for info on traffic issues around here (when I say that, I mean within a 150 mile radius of here, not STL proper). I couldn't find anything about traffic issues yet. I think the worst around here will be early on Monday, and late afternoon/evening after the eclipse ends. I think all the locals on the fringe of the totality path heading south/southwest of STL on Monday to get a better vantage point will create some havoc.
STL?? I know I will "duh" when you tell me
just guessing, STL=St.Louis , probably totally wrong hahaha :)
I accidentally deleted the OP of this thread during some glitch issues on GLP this morning (10/30/17).
I will be posting some useful links in the next post to make it easier for those posting so you don't have to scroll through a massive OP. :)
I had to delete the first two comments on this thread to do so, but wanted to keep them so I've put them below.

I also would like to mention that I know this thread has MANY pages and that it can be somewhat intimidating to join/chime in on a long standing thread as a new member/AC (I've experienced it when I first joined GLP), but we are a VERY welcoming group to those who newly join us. We are a small family of sorts who are all mostly interested in the same earth-related topics (quakes/solar/volcanoes/weather/etc.) and share info on each of those topics as well as 'off-topic' discussions. We genuinely care for one another here and even when we do not agree with each other, we ALWAYS respect each other.
I truly enjoy when new folks join us here. All that I ask is to show respect. :)
