Original Message "NEWTOWN -- The head of the Newtown Police Union [Scott Ruszczyk] is suing Chief Michael Kehoe over defamatory comments he claims the chief made in the wake of an embezzlement scandal that rocked the union and the department three years ago."

Scott Ruszcyk and the Newtown Police Union are also defending Sandy Hook first responder NPD officer Thomas Beane's attempts to receive adequate compensation for PTSD-related employment termination.

The Newtown Police Union is also considering a vote of no confidence against Chief Kehoe in the strange case of officer George Sinko, who despite taking two hours to respond to the Sandy Hook School shootings, received only a written reprimand from Chief Kehoe.

"...officers believe the disciplinary action would have been more severe were Sinko not friends with the chief and Capt. Joseph Rios, who conducted the internal affairs investigation.

"People want to vomit," one officer said."

Exploring this tension between the Newtown police union and Newtown police leaders--a situation possibly mirrored in the CT State Police--may shed light on the real events of 12/14/12.
