This time of the year is particularly hard on people, especially those who do not have family or friends that can be around them.

Especially when everywhere you look or hear the media in every form, is shouting out how this is a time for family and friends - a time to spend all your money and put yourself in debt, because you should - after all it is Christmas!

Christmas can be a particularly hard and sad time for them. It exacerbates their feelings of loneliness, or their struggles with their health, or their loss of loved ones.

So my heart goes out to them all the more at this time when they are acutely aware of what they do not have in their lives.
