I have a theory: time travelers leave "clues", but they are afraid of being too obvious and creating a paradox

I have a (stupid) theory!
What if...
Time travelers from the future who work as writers for Hollywood have a "fetish" of leaving "clues" about future events in movies, TV shows, and even the internet.
But they do it in a very careful way, so that no-one can decipher the "clues" BEFORE the event happens.
They are afraid that, if someone decipher the clues before the event happens, and so the event is PREVENTED from happening, it may cause a chain reaction and completely alter the future, and possibly cause a paradox, maybe even making them to disappear, since they were never born in the "altered future".
LOL!
What a stupid theory!!
I'm proud of it!
