I wouldn't blame them one bit - but how do we know they called 911 right away?
These are the same two who hid silently for hours in the school even as cops right outside their door used the office for a command center.
Again - I don't blame them one bit. But I am wondering how much time elapsed between the time Halstead saw a man enter the school, the time shooting began, and the time 911 was dialed.
Is that our time discrepancy? Is it possible there *weren't* 911 calls yet because no one was shooting, i.e. the man (one of a team perhaps) walked into the school and only *later* started shooting?
Is that why Rousseau's kids still had their backpacks on?
In order for Rousseau's children to have backpacks on, either multiple children would have had to arrive late (and at the same time), or:
1. First man enters Rousseau's room around 9:05 and herds children into one area of room (seems corroborated by fact children were in one area)
2. Second man may have entered with first, readying himself to burst into Soto's room at appointed start time
3. Third man walks in in front of Halstead around 9:31, and is seen by exiting mom
4. At appointed time (9:32?) all shooters begin shooting; the man Halstead hears is the man running up and down the halls providing distraction fire, not the ones in the classrooms; at some point this man shoots out front glass from inside building
5. Halstead and Cox don't call 911 for several minutes, fearing they might be heard by this "running shooting man"
This explains several things, including:
1. Why Rousseau's children have backpacks on 2. Why Rousseau's children are concentrated into one area 3. Why Soto's children hear nothing until shooting begins 4. Why Halstead doesn't say anything about glass being shot out 5. Why death count can be so high (shooters have time to maneuver children in Rousseau's room into a concentrated area ahead of time) 6. Why death count in Soto's room is so drastically different from Rousseau's (children are not pre-concentrated) 7. Why so many people report gunshots "right outside the classroom door" being the first thing they hear 8. Why Soto's kids report shooter "kicking in the door" (he would have done this through a side door at 9:32 as shooting began) 9. How so many people are killed in such a short period of time
