Updates download in background and finish much faster.
Hopefully that was sarcasm...MANY levels of fail there. :catfilenails:
Ha. Well maybe a lil sarcasm. When the shitty Toys R Us interface is disabled and the proper Start button and menu added, it's actually much better than W7.
....no...actually it's not. Nor does it work well in most business environments. Companies want no part of it. Consumer fools will buy anything presented to them....and since it is pre-loaded and forced on them. I have done HUNDREDS of Win8 downgrades to Win7 for people. It's a JOKE....and Microsoft knows it.
Ex7forW8 makes mine look an act like Windows 7 but starts up faster. If I'd had the choice between Windows 7 and W8, I definitely wouldn't have picked this.
Original Message
Does anybody know how to completely eliminate Windows Update from ever running on 7?
I disabled it everywhere I could find to do so, but it's right there in the task manager every time I boot, like I never changed anything.
I can stop the service in Task Manager, but it immediately restarts itself, even if I stop it after the computer has been running for many hours, which doesn't make sense to me.
Wouldn't you think that after a while, it would have already checked for updates for that day and not start again, or is the code not that sophisticated? Or is it doing something OTHER than update checks?
