A single shot is going to be pretty light weight.  It will kick like a mule.

Try a side by side.  A little more weight will help with the recoil.  Also maybe try some Winchester AA Low Noise Low Recoil shells.  They'll still get the job done.

True . Get a Rock Island Armory M5 12ga pump . They are all steel ( receiver , barrel , trigger , trigger guard ) No aluminum or composites . Heavy sum bitch but it is very well built . Dual slide rails and all .

Best part is it can be had for 200- 220 out the door brand new

Original Message Just tried a friends 12 gauge single shot break action
with a minimun legal length barrel.

I got to 3 shots and decided it wasnt going to be (any fun)Im no nancy boy and I thought I was doing everything correctly.

but dang how can a person even practice with such a weapon.
