I can understand how a cop in high alert mode could think he was going in his car to grab a gun. Is the cop at fault in this scenario? Yeah, he was quick to judge but I feel the cop's action is within reason.
Hmmm.......... you feel strongly both ways, do you? He was quick to judge AND reasonable too? There is nothing "reasonable" about shooting an unarmed person who is not attacking you. Did the officer have reason to be concerned for his own safety? Of course. He drew his weapon and pointed it at the driver. He was ready for a confrontation if one was coming, but shooting was not called for. Why do so many cops value their own lives more than the people who they were hired to serve? Why are so many cops willing to hurt and kill other people if they feel threatened? What did they think they would feel when they took the job? Good judgement and courage are required to be a good police officer and this officer crossed the line by shooting when it was not required.
Did the officer have reason to be concerned for his own safety? I believe the cop said he was being questioned due to a 'seatbelt violation'. Very unsafe thing to do. That sounds like reason enough. I mean, if the guy doesn't care about his own safety, he's just as likely to put a bullet in the cops head. Good call by the officer. Thinking ahead.
Ahh......... except I know more than you. I did that job for over 20 years. I have experienced far more than a single man reaching into his vehicle to retrieve his license and I never shot at anyone. Came close a few times with ARMED suspects. Good judgement and courage. Nothing is more important than those things if you want to be a good police officer.
jeebus. I knew I should have put /sarc at the end. c'mon really?
If it was just you and me talking, I would have smiled at your comments. However, I have been in this forum long enough to know that there are many people who miss obvious information and your subtle sarcasm would surely be missed. An unjustified police shooting is not a topic that should be misunderstood. These words triggered my response to you "put a bullet in the cops head" I hope you understand.
i thought you were mister 20 yrs experience and you had some great discernment? i knew he trolled you immediately.. i even posted it before his admission. maybe there is a lesson in there huh? .
Ha......... so you have judged me as being less discerning than you? And you base that I my use of tact with him? I don't mind you thinking that you are wiser and more knowing than I. I know why I am in the forum and I know who I am speaking to when I post my comments. Like right now...... who am I really speaking to as I respond to you? If you have knowledge about the thread topic, have you posted it? If you only came to show me up and claim to be more knowing than I, I find that to be entertaining.
now you sound just plain nutty. ummm search my a/c number if you can figure out how to do that mr 20 yr. .
Hmmm........ still thinking about me, are you? It seems that I have become the center of your universe. Perhaps you will dream about me as well? As for you....... I have no desire to "search your a/c number". You have arrived to entertain me and I appreciate it, but I can't say that you are a person who I will even think about unless you make me laugh again.
ummm... you asked me a question. then you are puzzled i replied? cuckoo cuckoo cuckoo cuckoo
This thing that you have going with me......... it really seems to be an issue with you that you think that you know more than I know. I'm fine with whatever you want to think, even if good thinking eludes you. I asked you if you posted any information. Your response was for me to search for YOU, but I don't care about you. It was a question like "how are you today"? Nobody really cares. They are just being polite. So........... how are you doing today?
look, we both know you felt stupid when you were told the post was sarcasm. how many more posts will it take for you to repair your ego? heck.. i will even help you. mr 20? thank you for your wise posts... you were right. we are all better off for your vast experience and wisdom being shared with us humble slaves. please share more of your grand wisdom from 20 yrs of experience. yours truly, impressed slave .
Neither of you know anything, both shut the fuck up.
