Original Message I just ran across an article about which states' taxes hit the average American the hardest, and in this poor economic climate I thought others might like to know about it. [link to www.moneytalksnews.com] The list comes from the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP).

Here are the top four on their list:

1. Washington.
2. Florida.
3. Texas.
4. South Dakota.

This link ( [link to www.itep.org] is found in the article, and it goes to a pdf giving the stats on all states.
