We've been running out of money for years, yet we always make it. We've been fired, but we've found a new job soon after. All kind of shit happens on a regular basis.
I used to freak out every time something happened, but no more. I don't care anymore. What happens, happens. Since I am not a clairvoyant, I can't prevent bad things from happening. So why freak out? I've quit worrying about stuff I can't do anything about.
IT DRIVES MY WIFE CRAZY! She can't handle my being so casual and just dealing with adversity when it hits - but not before.
She keeps nagging about how irresponsible and immature I am for not constantly worrying about the future or wringing my hands every time we run a but short of money. And when something happens, she's all about "I told you so! Now what are we going to do, eh? This is the end, I tell you! The end!". Ok, so if you knew it, why didn't you do anything about it, you silly woman?! It seems as if she wants to live in fear and, even even though she can't do anything about them, she has some kind of a need to worry about future events. To her, not worrying oneself to death is immature and irresponsible. How? I don't know.
