If you want to retire in peace Guam is your huckleberry its relaxed not to much crime and yes the food and women will have your head spinning!! At about 36 miles long and 17 miles wide and 243 square miles it is a small place but you will be suprised with about 180,000 people and the biggest K-Mart in the world lol. Guam is the biggest island in the micronesian chain with about 7 islands making that chain we are a mayo polynesian decent my island sits on top of two extinct volcanoes with the Mariana Trench as my back yard. The US has two huge bases one being the Navy in the south part of the island and Airforce at the Northern tip and our economy caters to tourism with the Japanese being the main contributors to our economy. If you want to know Guam ask me born and raised there and its the best little dam island you want to live in. Hafa Adai (means hello in Chamorro)
Are there times when there are traffic issues? I have heard that can make it hard to move around easily. Is this true?
But, I served 20 years in the US Army - Retired as an E7 - at the age of only 37.
I decided to bring my family of 5 to the remote island of Guam.
That decision had it's ups and downs - been here for 24+ years now - I want to think I made the right choice for me an my wife.
Been married for about 33 yrs to a girl I met in Korea - I will never leave her - ever.
My boys (3 of them) make more money a month than I ever had ( except when I ran a Beach Bar).
Anyway, quit judging me because I claim Guam is my home - it is a US Territory and all of us here are US Citizens.
