Original Message Interested to hear your thoughts on this scenario and the questions below.

It's not a trick question, I just made it up off the top of my head.

There's a rock on the ground in the middle of the desert, and embedded in one side of the rock is a video camera.
This is the rock's 'eye' which looks out horizontally across the ground.
Surrounding the rock not two feet away is a thick sheet of cardboard stood upright which wraps all the way around the rock in a perfect circle, joining seemlessly at the ends behind it.

All along the inside of the card is a panoramic photo of either the same or a different desert, this is all that is and has ever been visible to the rock's eye.

The rock feels no wind, sees no moving life anywhere in it's field of view, and hears no sound. It also never rains.

Furthermore, the sun never moves out off of it's 12 Noon positon, and is never obscured by clouds.

Questions:

1. How many ways can the rock experience time?
2. How many ways can the rock experience the third dimension?
