Mostly because I've personally tried my hand at them. Soccer requires skill and it's rewarding when you start to get better control of the ball and can kick harder, it's fun. Football too is fun, making cool plays, it's fun. Basketball, training, grabbing the rim. I'm not very tall so I never stuck with basketball. I'm not a fan of any sport really, but I can see the appeal in any sport. People who say a sport sucks suck at athletics themselves. Especially the fat guys who love football. Don't get me started on them. Loud mouths if you put them on the field would be getting heart stroke and vomiting like nobodies business yet aren't shy to speak out of turn about how soccer is for pussies.
I appreciate Hockey and Football. Played both in high school. Walked onto football in college. UGA baby. But only played for like two weeks in spring practice when I realized I liked my brain cells I will say this. Hockey is alot more brutal cardio wise. A hockey shift is the most brutal 1-2 minutes you will experience in your life I love my Pittsburgh Penguins too. Got Phil Kessel this season
It's not that tough when you're in shape. Phil Esposito used to take 10 minute shifts and smokes 2 packs a day. Try one round of boxing then you'll know what real exhaustion is.
I am an American. I love America. I know that Americans aren't stupid. So, how do you explain that Americans don't appreciate soccer? I'm thinking it's a mental problem. Though I don't necessarily blame us. Maybe the problem is mass hysteria. Basically the media hypnosis plot line for U.S. involves ignorance of soccer.
Also, don't reply to tell me what word soccer is called in your country. I am an American. We speak American. If American isn't English that's because America is not an English colony. Plus, it's just a word, who cares? I never got mad at a southerner referring to soda as pop. In fact, I find it charming.
