At this time Koppu is rated as Cat 4 with max winds in excess of 150 MPH.
Been watching it for days and it was not projected to get above Cat 3. But we know better.
Koppu was weak out to sea and has travelled toward the Philippines in almost a straight line just under 16N latitude. Rather than weakening as you would expect this is one of those that is projected to strengthen to Cat 5 as it makes landfall.
