The Senate voted on an amendment that would defund Planned Parenthood Thursday, less than a week after an armed attack on an abortion clinic in Colorado. The vote came down to the wire, with 52 votes cast against providing funding for Planned Parenthood and 48 votes cast in favor. The amendment, which is a part of a repeal of President Barack Obama’s signature health care law, will almost certainly be vetoed when the bill ends up in the Oval Office.
