Is it really true that in the 1500s, 1600s and the 1700s, the Caribbean sea was really dangerous waters, crawling with dangerous pirates, in the same kind of a way that sharks patrol Australian waters ?
There is all kinds of movies about pirates and featuring pirates...
But what is the real likelihood that back in the pre-modern era, if you went sailing in the Caribbean... that you would likely find yourself hanging onto crumbling walls ?
