Edited: 12-24-2015 A very Merry Christmas to everyone!
I hope this doesn't end up being bad news...but given that we have the following "on our global plate" right now...we should keep a "heads-up" for quakes this holiday weekend. 1. Full moon on Christmas at 11:11 2. Gamma ray burst registered yesterday 3. CME and M-7 class flare this A.M. 4. a 7-planet alignment including Mercury which is usually a "quake-maker" 5. a 2-tailed comet in the inner solar system (more of a "sign" than an influence, but you just never know with the "electric model" of the cosmos!) THAT is a great deal lining-up all at once, so just stay alert.
END EDITS
I'm sure that Suspicious Observer will be covering this tomorrow--but for now, just know that there have been a series of 9 (NINE) QUAKE "swarms" in the state of Oregon today and one just a few minutes ago was over a 4.0 pt. (THAT is a big quake for them!)
I would say we have a "heads-up" tonight for the Cascadia Subduction Zone (just in case.)
It really is not a surprise to our family as my spouse is a "sensitive" and has been feeling nausiated w/the familiar "quake migrain"--so, seeing this on the USGS is par for the course.

Not sure if it is a pre-cursor to more serious activity. I hope it is not as I have friends and relatives over there! Please post if you hear about any further activity.
here's a list of 11 over mag 2.5

Thank you for that list--wow--getting busy over there!
Just a reminder...even though you see quakes in the lower numbers, you can't always go by that when there are deep subterranean forces at work. Mt. St. Helens erupted with only a quake over a 3.0 pt....so...don't discount smaller quakes. Oregon sits over a subducting plate and this is why we have places like St. Helens, Mt. Hood, Crater Lake and others. Learn about the geology if you want more insight!
