It's how much it COST to ship. Cheap to ship now. Oil prices are low. Stuff is still flowing.
Wrong! Try again or learn to math. Oil prices account for a 40% overall shipping cost. The drop is well beyond 40% in accordance with current oil prices. This is also leaving out the fact that cost to manufacture is also cheaper with the reduction in oil price (virtually everything is a petroleum product in manufacturing today), which should increase demand as prices would be cheaper overall, offsetting the 40% decrease at % decrease in petroleum. This increases demand, and in this global market, demand is also slowing, only exasperating the root issue. Note that 40% of the cost to ship is due to oil, and oil also drops at its own rate, so it's a percentage of a percentage. You are seeing a major decrease in shipping goods, not a decrease in cost to ship goods. Credit purchases and in store credit cards like best buy has are also great to watch, as it means people buy garbage they don't need and can't afford. This has grinding to a major halt. Economic slow down confirmed. It's going to take a new trend and rabid consumerism to pick it up. Tech like phones, tv's, and electrics have saved us around 2010/2011 to where we are today, but that is slowing down big time.
If it costs 40% less to ship stuff, Is the airlines charging 40% less to ship the Sheeples arsses around the country? Are Airlines really charging 40% less?
