In accordance with industry accepted best practices we ask that users limit their copy / paste of copyrighted material to the relevant portions of the article you wish to discuss and no more than 50% of the source material, provide a link back to the original article and provide your original comments / criticism in your post with the article.
Original Message When Embedding a Youtube video, look above the font color, and font selection options. The font color, and font selection options, are found directly above the "text box", where you can type.

Above the font color option, you will see in this order, the bold, italic, underline, through-score, YouTube, and LiveLeak, command buttons.

In order for a command to work properly, your need to put the cursor input line, at the front of the material you want affected.

The "Cursor input line" is that line that exist's, where you press your keyboard, then a letter, number or symbol, appears in it's place. It may have a more formal name, but for the purposes of this topic, we will call it the "CIL".

To embed a YouTube video, first post the link.

[link to www.youtube.com (secure)]

Then, place the CIL, at the from of the "h", in "https", it should look like this:

[ youtube ] [link to www.youtube.com (secure)]

Congrats, you accomplished the first step. This process though, requires a second step to complete.

Now, place the CIL, at the end of the link, and press the "YouTube Button", again. It should look like this now:

[ youtube ] [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] [ /youtube ]

Notice how the button does what it does. The first [ youtube ], acts as the "beginning", and the [ /youtube ], with a "/", in front of it, acts as the end.

Now let's look at what happens, when I press the "YouTube" button at the beginning and end, without the spaces between "Youtube" and the "[]", brackets, as I have done for purposes of illustrating the process:

As you can see, a "YouTube video", is now embedded. To test it, to make sure you properly embedded something, press the "Preview" button, on the Left side of the "Text Box". The "Preview" button, is found directly underneath the "Post" button, but above the "Cancel" button.

The process of embedding, works with the quote system, as well as the bold, italic, and other buttons on that row.

Now you can celebrate that you finally learned how to properly embed things on this website.

Please note, many web forum's, use a similar system for quotes and other such things.

If you found this valuable, please pay it forward. Mod's, please perm post this to the top, for the sake of all people who like to come here to relax, read, learn new things, or spread information.
