I will brush you people up on this seeing some of you are really confused
It was NEVER fully ratified into the constitution. In 1812 and 1816 it came 2 states away from ratification.
It also does not stop a judge or lawyer from running for public office
... A judge is a puclic office... He is elected by the people
Also it states that a title given by a FOREIGN COUNTRY discredits you for office
Passing the BAR doesn't count , neither does being a judge
You have to be a duke or earl, or knighted by a FOREIGN GOVERNMENT
Also this amendment is still able to be ratified needing just 24 or 26 states to make it happen
We didn't cover up history and repeal a amendment, it was never ratified and its still on the table
