Original Message Every man, woman and child on this earth possesses light and dark shadows. it’s a large part of what makes us human. But we currently live in an eager to be offended time and are constantly bombarded with stories of people losing their jobs and sometimes even their lives as a consequence of societies new motivation to see so called offenders punished. and sometimes the perceived offence amount to little more than pub banter.

In other words, a new social media police is requiring that human behaviour excise its dark shadows to appease its bias and yet that darkness must go somewhere. it can not be dimmed by religion, environment or punitive measures. the recent so called killer clown craze, is, along with online trolling, the anonymous opportunity dark shadows find to engage in an outlet and be exercised. it is an unsophisticated demonstration of this darkness, but it is necessary and serves the function as acting as a psychological safety valve for people who otherwise may have no other avenue in which to do so.

there will be those who posses psychopathy and use it as a cheap excuse to engage in various degrees of violence, but that’s isn't the point for the majority of those who dress as these clowns and take to the streets. The imagery is important too. The clown is an age old representation of someone who is allowed to trick and mock you with out censure and this comes back to my theory of dark shadows that we all posses. the answer is to let Halloween pass and then it will die down and eventually die out. But when we live in a society that wishes to air brush and ban withering comments from the internet and lock up and punish people who own differing opinions about life, we haven't seen the end of such disturbing trends: so therefore don't blame the clown, blame the censorious.
