25 years ago today (April 20, 2017), the world lost a great man who brought smiles and the gift of laughter to people all over the world.
Benny Hill.
Some of my fondest (and happiest) memories growing up was staying up late to catch the U.S. version of the Benny Hill show on a then-small independent TV station here in Central Florida (Channel 35).
I knew I was in for a special treat when the Thames television opening "bug" would appear on the screen.
The U.S. versions edited the show down for time constraints and occasionally for content as well. There was a sketch in which one of "Hill's Angels" showed her bare breasts for a brief moment and the editing team apparently missed it and it aired as is. Laughed my ass off when I first saw it.
God rest your soul Mr. Hill. I know God took you a bit too soon but he needed your humor, and frankly, I don't blame him...
