TRIBECA, Manhattan — At least 34 people are injured and a 12-story high-rise has been evacuated after a fire erupted in TriBeCa, causing high levels of carbon monoxide in the area Tuesday morning, according to the fire department.

Fire officials responded to a defective oil burner in the basement of a multi-use building at West Broadway and Murray Street around 8:30 a.m., according to the fire department.
