[quote:Anonymous Coward 75052675:MV8zNTUyMjk5XzYzNTI2OTI1XzlBRTc0NTg0] [quote:ThisWayUp:MV8zNTUyMjk5XzYzNTI2ODI4X0U1OTQ1MzBF] UK readers and posters. Coincidence? I've just got back from a friends house who lives near me but under a different council and she rents one of their properties. On Friday she got a letter from her social housing landlord to say they will be doing an electrical safety check in her home and it will take approximately 4 hours. The bottom of the letter it says faulty or untested installations can cause damage to property or even serious injury. This is the first time such a check has been carried out in the house and for 4 hours apart from the usual boiler and smoke alarm annual tests they do. Am I jumping to conclusions by thinking this new 4 hour electric check has something to do with councils shitting themselves because of the London tower block fire. Has anyone else who rents council property had a similar letter.
Every council in the UK is going to reassure their tenants but the Kensington Council .... wow I dont know where to start really, to continue to ignore the residents of Grenfell and leave the offices for the weekend is disgusting. No one came out to talk to them ... the fact they have acted like they have says there is without a doubt a pile of guilt there. Shame on them. I see there being arrests there before the year is out if the people of Grenfell keep their heads and no rioting takes place.
