[quote:Anonymous Coward 73374315:MV8zNjA4MzQ1XzY0NDEyNjU3XzEzNDE3NjJB] There are new inventions, even groundbreaking ones, but it is not just the military that has concerns about potential abuses. As a civilization we have been teetering on the edge of oblivion for some time. There are tremendously exotic new vistas for advancement but we haven't evolved our societies' out of their primitive violent and greedy natures. The systems of control have stunted human ethical progress and channeled out collective efforts in wasteful and destructive endeavors. Just as in Tesla's era the systems of capitalization of inventive forces is heavily weighted towards the pre-existing power structures, which favor stagnation and decay rather than human flourishing and evolution. When the time is right or when it just can't be stopped, the lotus flower will emerge out of the fetid swamp water that is our status quo, and the magic will flow. [/quote]

Have humans now learned everything and stopped advancing?
I dont consider self driving cars or new models of CPUs or phones as new inventions as they are just modifications of existing products.
Same A/C power since Tesla invented it. Same wireless since Tesla. Same cars since Ford. Same airplanes. Same CPUs. Same transistors. Same rocket engines. Same robots. etc, etc, etc,
Yes, they all have gotten more perfected over time but nothing is new.
