I do put whatever I decide to carry in a holster, except for my .380. I typically put it in the large side pocket of my cargo pants.
I wear pants like that, but put my 380 in my front pocket. I might move it to a side pocket.
So I see these movies and TV shows where people stick their sidearms in their belt, usually behind their back. Sidearms with only a trigger safety like the Glock.
Every time I've tried that for experimentation it always turns out to be a bad idea. The appendix position works okay, sort of, with a trigger cover for the Glock but all in all unless you have to ditch the weapon it's a very bad idea.
For single action Mexican carry is a bad idea too.
Basically the only people who carry this way are idiots or criminals.
Although some slack might be cut in some cases, I know a guy who carries a Ruger LCP in his shirt pocket.
Unfortunately, one Missouri gun owner never got the memo – or he did and just chose to ignore it.
The man was shopping at a University City grocery store with a loaded firearm tucked into the waistband of his jeans, sans holster. Since a waistband provides little to no support and fails to keep your weapon properly oriented, the handgun quickly began to slip down the man’s pants. In his attempt to keep the gun from falling to the floor – and with nothing protecting the trigger – the man accidentally discharged a single round…and shot himself right in the leg.
