[quote:Anonymous Coward 71686906:MV8zNjM1MDYzXzY0OTIxNjA0XzcxNTRCRTY=] [quote:Anonymous Coward 33256242:MV8zNjM1MDYzXzY0OTIxNDI0XzM2QTdGRDBB] Matthew 24:36 talks about the day and hour an event happens that is described from verse 29 onwards, which begins 'immediately AFTER the tribulation of those days...' The flood was the wrath of God. The comparison is that, when the unsaved of earth see Jesus coming, they will mourn because the wrath of the lamb is now upon them. This is after the tribulation. The bible specifically tells us to expect tribulation. Tribulation comes from Satan. It also tells us we are not appointed unto wrath. Wrath comes from God.
And if the great tribulation is the Wrath of God that he promises his Church will not go through? Rev. 6:17 says that by the time of the 6th Seal judgment God’s wrath has already begun, and Rev. 15:1 indicates that the bowl judgments will complete God’s wrath. The 7th bowl is poured out at the end of Rev. 16, before the 2nd Coming. And don’t forget, the Great Tribulation is the last half of Daniel’s 70th Week and is the time during which the Bowl judgments are poured out. So you would be correct in saying that the Wrath of God covers just about all of Daniel’s 70th Week, whereas the Great Tribulation is just the last half. If you do a word study on 1 Thes. 1:10, you’ll see it promises that Jesus will rescue the Church from both the time and the place of God’s wrath in a manner that requires our prior departure. If so, the church has to be gone before the seal judgments begin, and sure enough you can see the Church in heaven in Rev. 5 singing the song of the redeemed. No other group can fit the description given in Rev. 5:9-10. I’m convinced, by the way, that the Bible only teaches one rapture view, and the strictest literal interpretation reveals it’s what’s known as the pre-tribulation rapture, but should more accurately be called the pre-70th Week rapture. All other views require their proponents to re-define grace, re-invent the church, and re-interpret the Scriptures to support their position.
Matthew 24:36 - Olivet Discourse
Jesus is talking about the rapture here and he compares the rapture to Noah and his family going into the Ark. Which also means he is comparing the flood to the tribulation. Now ask yourself this question....If the Great Tribulation is supposed to be the absolute worst period in human history, like there has never been before according to Matthew 24:21, how is it that in Matthew 24:36 when Jesus is describing the rapture, He says that just prior to the rapture, people will be marrying and giving in marriage, otherwise saying it will be a calm period and life will be going about as usual?
Follow Up Paragraph:
Even though the information about the pre-trib rapture completely stares us in the face every time we open our bibles, there will still be people that refuse to see it and go on and on about this word or that word pointing to a post trib rapture or even no rapture at all. Whatever. I can't convince anyone of anything, but here's what I would ask you to do.
If you want to know the truth, ask the Holy Spirit. Ask for meekness and wisdom. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you what is true and it will be done.
If you ask for the Holy Spirit, you will receive it:
