Original Message Marshawn Lynch is now a running back for the Oakland Raiders, after having spent several years as a star player for the Seattle Seahawks. When he showed up to the game on Sunday, he was wearing a T-shirt that said “Everybody vs Trump” on the front.

Lynch’s message was symbolic of how Trump’s attacks on the NFL had unwittingly unified its players, coaches and team owners of all races. Last weekend, several owners joined their players arm-in-arm on the sidelines, as some players took a knee. Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones took a knee himself just before the national anthem. New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, a personal friend of Trump, publicly condemned Trump for his divisive remarks. Other NFL players have also taken notable shots at Trump.

Last week Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy tweeted “It’s really sad man … our president is [an] asshole.” Other sports stars have also condemned Donald Trump for his racist attacks on black athletes. NBA star LeBron James called Trump a “bum” while retired NBA legend Michael Jordan criticized Trump, and NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr tweeted in support of the protesters.
