Sandstorms continue to blast North China, blanketing many cities in floating dust. The China Meteorological Administration says the bad weather will last till Tuesday.
Meteorologists say a cyclone from Mongolia will affect most of northern China in the next two days. Temperatures will drop by four to eight degrees Celsius. Sandstorms are forecast in parts of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Gansu Province and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
Qiao Lin, engineer China Meteorological Admin., said, "Sandstorms have affected air quality. People should avoid outdoor activities when the harsh weather is coming."
The dusty weather is sending many people to the hospital.
Doctor Beijing Chaoyang hospital, said, "For people with respiratory diseases such as bronchial asthma and pneumonia, sandstorms may be a trigger."
The China Meteorological Administration has forecast 11 to 15 sandstorms in northern areas this spring.

Heavy snow blankets NE. China, 20,000 livestock dead
Northeast China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has been pummeled by snow storms in the last month. 20,000 livestock have died from cold and hunger.
More than 8,000 families have been affected. In the hardest hit area, snow is over a meter deep. More than 80 families were cut off before relief workers made contact with them.
Emergency work crews are clearing the snow and deliver food and daily necessities. Thousands of people have joined in the relief efforts.

Landslide leaves seven dead, one injured in SW China
CHONGQING, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Seven people were killed and one was injured when a passing bus was hit in a landslide in a mountainous county in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on Monday.
Pu Yang, secretary of the Miao and Tujia Autonomous County of Pengshui, said that torrential downpour on Sunday night caused a landslide near the highway connecting Pengshui to the Tujia Autonomous County of Shizhu, north to Pengshui.
The landslide happened at 8 a.m. on Monday 5.4 km away from the seat of Pengshui, when more than 120 cu m of rock fell off from a slope, hitting the bus which was passing through the spot.
Among the seven killed was the bus driver.
The injured is now hospitalized.
The exact number of people aboard the bus is still unknown.
Another 200 cu m of rocks are about to fall off the slope and rescuers are taking measures to deal with the emergency, according to Pu.

5 bodies recovered at subway collapse site
Five bodies of the six missing workers have been pulled from the collapsed subway construction site in Beijing. The rescue operation is still underway to remove the sixth body which has been located.
Part of Beijing's No.10 subway route, currently under construction, collapsed last Wednesday. Experts say its location was once a natural pool and had not been properly filled in, leaving earth to be loose and unstable.
Rescue workers have built a frame to support the vertical emergency tunnel while digging an additional rescue escape route. Relatives to those who died in the collapse have been arriving in Beijing.
