The local workers won't do shit. You will get the blame. It's going to blow. Good luck
i know i am using workers from the usa only right now. i will hire some locals from time to time , if and when it makes sense
My friend lived on St. John for 35 years. You will be hiring the locals born on the islands and you will like it. Or you won't be doing business in the USVI.
see? now that's the kind of advice i am looking for! thanks
Go there, hire some locals. Rebuild. Take you piece. Make some friends. Buy some land. Go to "Bomba's Shack" and sip some tea.... You'll never leave... Best of luck.
thank you. i was fortunate that i got to grow up with both the farm life and beach, i am really looking forward to checking it all out. plan on volunteering a lot cleaning beaches and trails on St Johns, which is where i will be living i want to get plugged into the local scene but keep a low profile. i will be the one hiring locals and developing training programs, plus managing day to day operations
I just got the word I got the job managing work crews from the US that are down there doing reconstruction after the hurricane. I have partnership in what will turn into multiple companies in the Caribbean region.
Enough about that shit! I have never lived in the tropics and looking for advice, although I have lived in Florida multiple times, never the island life.
If anyone has ever been there would love to hear your experiences. Leaving brutally cold West Michigan and really excited for this opportunity!
