I don't think Trump even understands the full significance of what the establishment has just done to him. He is probably starting to understand and that was why he put out the veto threat. Keep in mind the establishment wants nothing more than for Trump and his supporters to go away so they can continue to run the show like they always have. They don't really care if Republicans lose in the mid-terms. The establishment and their way of operating the government is way more important to them than either side losing or winning a few members.
This bill was DESIGNED to be a huge FU to Trump voters.
I guarantee you establishment Republicans and Dems are celebrating tonight because they have finally succeeded in driving a wedge between Trump and his base. It is a sad day.
