[quote:Paranoiaaaaa:MV8zODI0ODU1XzcyNzcxNjM1XzM5QjVCMzI5] [quote:Anonymous Coward 76490953:MV8zODI0ODU1XzcyNzYxODQ2X0Q4MDM3MEVF] This quake wasn't near fissure 8 at all. It was above Kona on Hualalai mountain. Different in that the whole island felt it. Been here 15 years, don't remember ANY quake coming from Hualalai. Scary
Now that's interesting. Here's the article I found. It says they were 3 aftershocks in the 11 minutes following. I don't know anything about earthquakes really. That just sounds strange to me because I've heard that all the earthquakes following the major one last May have been aftershocks. So now, the aftershocks are having aftershocks? :scratching: Magnitude 5.3 Earthquake Hits Hawaii Island "HAWAII ISLAND - The earthquake, initially measured as a Magnitude 5.2, occurred early Saturday evening on the Big Island. (BIVN) – A Magnitude 5.3 earthquake rattled Hawaii Island at 5:09 p.m. HST. The quake occurred 6.6 miles northwest of Puuanahulu on the west side of the island, the USGS reports, at a depth of 13.2 km (revised). The event was reportedly felt by hundreds, as far away as Oahu." UPDATE: “Three aftershocks were recorded within an hour of the earthquake, including a magnitude-3.0 event approximately 11 minutes following the mainshock,” USGS said. “Additional aftershocks are expected.” http://www.bigislandvideonews.com/2019/04/13/magnitude-5-2-earthquake-hits-hawaii-island/
