Original Message Spain’s new interior minister pledged to do his best to reduce migrants’ injuries by removing barbed wire sections from the border between Europe and Africa. With Ceuta and Melilla, Spain has two land borders on the African continent.. Even though the 20-foot fences are often easily crossed by climbing migrants, apparently, they won’t be enhanced but rather weakened by the new socialist Spanish Government.

Spain is perahps trying to dispute with Germany the title of the most migrant-friendly country; the statement made by the Interior Minister comes after the Spanish offer to accept the Aquarius migrants rejected by Italy’s new government, and also to give them a monthly welfare payment of 495 euros coupled with free healthcare.
