[quote:Ricochet 787:MV8zODgyMTgzXzY5OTMzMTY3XzJENUM2OTBE] It is very difficult to read the bible without bias, from the very begining theres a question as to why god talks to himself as in "let us make man in our image" this is because the original text didn't say god, it said elohim which is a plural for eloah, without even going there if you're getting into the story for real you have to ask yourself why doesn't the adam die after eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, elohim actually confirms what the serpent said would happen his eyes were open and he was able to see as one of them, check scripture see if I'm wrong....still talking plural here,we have to ask ourselves also it says that adam knew his wife in the garden, there was no house so he was taking her right there in front of all these elohim, how did adam know he was naked? who had on clothes for him to have a basis of this knowledge? the elohim were clothed, now lets go to the expulsion, modern xtians would have us believe that adam was expelled due to disobedience, but no where in the text does it say this, what it does say is that. Adam had to be expelled because " he took it upon himself to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and if he eats of the tree of life he will be elohim as one of us, go check it see if thats what it says...you can't take the bible the way it is from cover to cover, it wasn't composed that way, first there was the pentatech, the first 5 books, then later when the hebrews go into captivty they add the minor and major prophets, they, compose the torah and simultaneously they create the written talmud which were oral teachings prior to their captivity...The translations are important as well, you have the septuagint thats where it goes from ancient extinct hebrew to greek then you have the masoretic which transltes to modern hebrew, you cant just read it you have to study it VS real world history as well, the rabbit hole is deep bro good luck [/quote]

I'd like to hear your advice on how to approach reading it from cover to cover, free of the personal biased interpretation I have on it right now... (Growing up Catholic and having it essentially dissected and read for me). By reading it by myself and for myself, I hope to gain a much more sincere, original, unbiased and truer perspective/connection to it and what it means in my life.
Thanks
