Today's CDAN Blind Item - The Tapes
Everyone knows they exist. That is not a secret. Well, I mean, it is a secret to most people but not the participants or those close to them.
This is not a hidden camera thing. The battle over these tapes has been going on for just about two decades.
What do the tapes contain? Lots of sex and a whole lot of coke.
For the first few years after the recordings were made, this A list politician tried to acquire them from his best friend who also happened to make the recordings.
The best friend made the recordings of himself and his ex-girlfriend, who now was the girlfriend of the politician. The girlfriend wanted them, so the politician tried to get them.
He was probably going to get them, until the new girlfriend of the best friend intervened. She said they might come in handy down the road. She was certainly prescient.
They are worth millions now to the right buyer. There is a new person in this world though who has no idea the recordings exist, and it would be a major bomb dropping if they got out.
For the first time in a long time, the original group is talking about them again and trying to make a deal. My guess is there will be no deal. Way too valuable.

The tapes are the friend, the girl, the sex, and the drugs. The friend and the girl are who would get hurt if the tapes come out.
Could the new person in this world (politics) be Trump? Is the girl Hillary? Is the friend Webb Hubbell? The politician is Bill?

So, the tapes a about 20 years old. So, which A list politician started dating his best friend's ex girl about 20 years ago? If the politician isn't in the tapes, then why did the new girl convince the friend to keep them? The key is the girl in the tapes.
She must be why the tapes would now be so valuable.

Also, Gavin Newsome was good friends with Nancy Pelosi's son. (at least back in the late 90s). The Pelosi's are also in SF.

If A list politician is Newsom, and the ex BF is Willie Brown and then the girlfriend is Kamala Harris. Both Kamala and Gavin were mentored under Willie Brown. New person being DTJ. No one was talking about Sandra Lee over 20 years ago.

I feel like the "easy" guess of 1998 is Gill. Al Gore is reported as blaming Bill for causing him to lose the election. (Lewinsky scandal) but is also rumored to have cheated on his wife with Laurie David.
But I don't think Bill fits. If anything, he'd be the friend *and* the A+ politictian.

Sandra Lee’s first Food Network Show was 2003. And the blind says around two decades, not over 20 years ago...
Politics is the new football, has been for a long time. Pick a team, root for them. Meanwhile both teams are in the locker room doing a mountain of blow and doing hookers by the dozen.

They supposedly didn’t get together till 2005 ish. The battle for the tape has been going on for two decades. He was married to Kerry Kennedy about 20 years ago. It’s a good guess but I’m not sure the timeline fits.
