The Number Of Marijuana Overdoses Is Spiking In Canada.

I cant find the episode I watched on CBC National News a few days ago, but they DID report this on Canada's most watched News.

Stating that Emergency room visits are spiking from Marijuana overdoses !

====================================

When you think of an overdose, what comes to mind? Usually it's harder drugs like heroin or cocaine. But marijuana? Most believe that it's impossible to overdose on the soon-to-be-legal drug.

But that is certainly not the case across Canada. With the deadline for legalization fast approaching, it's no wonder that there's been a recent increase in marijuana overdoses and emergency room related visits.

These emergency room visits related to marijuana overdoses have tripled in Ontario over the past three years, going from 449 visits (2013-14) to 1,500 (2017-18)!

Whereas in the province of Alberta, this number has doubled, going from 431 to 832 in the same time period.

Unfortunately, this is a nationwide trend. The number of emergency room visits for cannabis overdoses is higher now than it has been in five years.
