[quote:Anonymous Coward 43322661:MV8zOTEwMzMwXzcwNTE5MzM3XzNCRkU0QzJG] This is one law I can agree with. There are increasing amounts of morons who are flying big drones into airports and over top of large groups of people. There are many great, responsible hobbyists and they can fly elsewhere to their hearts content. But if a seagull can go through a jet windshield or ruin a jet engine turbine then keep the drones far away. #sully [/quote]

A bill close to passage in Congress would repeal the current exemption for hobbyists from regulations and for the first time require them to take a test before flying. It also says such operators must fly no higher than 400 feet and stay clear of traditional aircraft. They may have to eventually install radio identification signals on the devices.

Maybe we could get some GLPers to contact Congress to vote against this bill.
